Aranthrue, the 12th Hole, a short but tricky par 4

Renfrew is a tough but friendly course, with views over the Firth of Clyde to the Glasgow hills. The meticulous landscaping allows for breathtaking views amidst a wide variety of greenery.

We recommend:

The 1st Hole — Silver Birch (356 yards) — Tight driving hole. Sensible to secure a steady start with a long iron or 3 wood for position. The 200 yard drive leaves 6 or 7 iron approach.

The 9th Hole — Craw’s Wid (549 yards) — Long but straightforward par 5, a drive and two irons can get you there without visiting the woods, just keep it straight and smooth to give yourself a birdie chance.

The 12th Hole — Aranthrue (315 yards) — Short but tricky part 4, a long iron or 3 wood into position avoiding the left bunker will leave only a short approach. Take care to check carry for pond on approach.

The 16th Fairway — Rhododendrons flourish under the sweet chestnut tree with golden yews in the middle background.

The 18th Hole — Home Bend (348 yards) — Short par 4 to finish. A long iron or 3 wood to centre of fairway will leave a short approach.
